Bill Gates, the full name of William Henry Gates III, is Bill or Gates for short. Born in Seattle, Washington, USA on October 28, 1955, entrepreneur, software engineer, philanthropist and founder of Microsoft Corporation). He was chairman, CEO and chief software designer of Microsoft.

Personal experience

  • His father William is a company lawyer and his mother Mary is a school teacher.
  • At the age of 17, Gates sold his first computer programming work - a time table system. The buyer was his high school. The price was 4200 dollars.
  • Gates scored 1590 out of 1600 in the standardized SAT test.
  • Gates told his university teacher that he would become a millionaire at the age of 30, and he had become a billionaire at the age of 31. In other words, Gates knew that he would be rich in the future, but he did not expect to be so rich.
  • While studying at Harvard, Gates participated in the preparation of Altair BASIC, which became the first product of Microsoft (then called Micro Soft).

  • On November 15, 2006, he won the 2006 James Morgan International Philanthropist Award.
  • In 2006, he ranked first in the second Financial Times Rich List.
  • On June 7, 2007, 30 years after leaving Harvard, he received an honorary bachelor of law degree from Harvard University and was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of Law.
  • On April 19, 2007, he was awarded the honorary doctorate of Tsinghua University and became the 13th honorary doctorate of Tsinghua University· On April 20, 2007, he was awarded honorary president of Peking University and honorary member of Guanghua School of Management.

Personal achievements
